Says Telephony Online:

Tweaks to the HSPA network will bring 3G capacity up to 7.2 Mb/s even before AT&T implements next-gen wireless technologies

So this is something I am looking forward to. If the wireless carriers could ever get enough backbone bandwidth in place to handle the influx of people dropping their wired internet connections it could be the next breakthrough in technology. If I could get a 10 meg wireless connection that I could take with me when I leave home, I would seriously consider dropping my cable internet. I’m sure even the possibility of doing this is several years away at this point.

There is some confusion out there right now as to whether the iPhone 3G (my current cell) can support the 7.2 MB links as is or if it will be in the next version of iPhone hardware.

Ryan Block says that current hardware can indeed support this speed. Many others disagree.

Why should I be able to connect to the United States power grid from my house via the internet? I shouldn’t, and hackers shouldn’t be able to either. I don’t understand why some of the most important segments of the nations infrastructure is navigable via the internet. I’m sure they are using VPN’s, firewalls, and Cisco’s latest technology but if there was ever a case for a point-to-point closed system, I think this would be it.

You know, I would be ok with this if they had just said that they didn’t show it because it was fucking terrible, but deciding for me that a show “contains profanity and adult content” is not acceptable. I would like to be the one to decide if something offends my delicate sensibilities, please. Not that I would watch that show anyway. Hell, I could have watched it since I’m pretty sure my local Fox affiliate did carry it. Thank you, move along.

I get bored easily as you can tell. Please don’t read any of the past entries. They are a complete waste of time. I like to try out new things and then move on. What can I say.

I get really pumped about something, read anything and everything I can about it. And then I instantly lose interest. It’s just my nature I suppose. I almost unpublished a bunch of the posts below because it is slightly embarrassing to see all the failures, but ahh screw it.

I’ve had thoughts of going all Twitter all the time. Nah, too public. Too personal. Side note: I have just about completely replaced my Google Reader time with Twitter reading time.

How about Posterous? This service really appeals to me. Short and sweet but not quite twittersize. Nope, I don’t control the site and I really like everything being on this domain for the most part. The same reason that I don’t use Blogger or WordPress.com.

I follow a bunch of people one way or another. Visit their site, follow them on Twitter, or via Google Reader. Maybe part of the reason this blogging thing feels so intimidating is because I feel like I have to write a friggin essay or journal entry. ^Case in point. But that isn’t true. Some of the people I enjoy reading the most don’t post long diatribes. Maybe occasionally, but just a sentence or two works just fine. pbump.net for instance. Most days he posts a quick little entry with a link or tidbit that I somehow missed in my daily traversing of the intenets. From AmberMac to Zatz, I read it all. Or so I thought. What now? We’ll see.
