Tyler Cruz’s Affiliate Marketing Challenge 4

Tyler, consider it blogged. I have actually been following Tyler’s blog for a while. I think I have read all of his posts at some point or another. He has been a really successful Internet entrepreneur that does web stuff for a living. He is currently running a contest on his site for new affiliate marketers that sign up under his account. This is actually the 4th such contest on his site.

I first heard about Market Leverage via Tyler’s site and thought it sounded like an interesting program. I finally got what I consider enough research under my belt to get stared and registered my account with Tyler as the referrer. The beginner prizes are actually pretty awesome. I have no illusions about breaking into the main category competition this month but I’m feeling pretty good about the new signup competition. Here are the prizes.

  • 1st Place: 8GB iPod Nano
  • 2nd Place: $100 Prepaid ML Rewards Card
  • 3rd Place: Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse

The current standings for the new signups category looks like this:

New Signups
Rank Account Earnings
1st: CD11421 $25.00
2nd: CD11560 $14.20
3rd: CD11387 $6.20

I would love to grab one of those top two prizes but I would gladly accept third as well. Thanks for having the contest Tyler it is really quite motivating. I guess I should also thank Market Leverage for supplying the prizes huh? Thanks Market Leverage.

I’m In

My last post lobbying (begging) to be accepted into Market Leverage apparently worked. I have been accepted. It’s awesome that I got in and will be able to attempt this crazy thing called affiliate marketing. I can’t wait. I was a little worried since there are more than a few people who have been denied. Some more than once. Although I think Derek was later accepted anyway, so good for him as well.

I haven’t started a campaign yet because I am still trying to read as much as possible about how to do it right. I understand that you have to put your money to work in order to actually make money and I am more than willing to do that. I just want to minimize the losses as much as possible and get into the black (or green if you prefer).

I have a core group of sites that I am following right now to capture any tidbit of information I can. That may actually be the topic of my next post. Sites I use to learn affiliate marketing. Some of the most interesting topics on these blogs are their income reports. It is very exciting to hear them talk about turning their first profit. Can’t wait to get started. But I will. Don’t want to rush into this and blow my entire (as yet undetermined) budget.

Affiliate Marketing - A Plea

October 8, 2008 · Filed Under Affiliate Marketing, Market Leverage, Site News · Comments

I’ve plunged back into to “Make Money on the Internet” crowd. I am planning on submitting my application to Market Leverage to join their affiliate program but I am a little unclear about what the minimum requirements are.

I own (checking Google Docs) 21 domain names. A couple of them are personal domains that won’t be used for anything except for personal stuff. The vast majority were bought for the explicit purpose of either building a web site and reselling them or just holding on to them because I thought they were good names. What I’m not exactly sure about is whether having clever domain names is enough to warrant entry into an affiliate program. Currently most of those domains are parked with NameDrive.com and I am ready to really put them to work.

I don’t have any personal experience with launching sites that include affiliate programs but I have cashed a check from Google AdSense (yeah I kind of consider AdSense a different beast). I also have the requisite photo of the check if necessary. So, Market Leverage account rep, if you have made it this far know that I am a quick learner and I am excited to dive into this area.

If you think I don’t meet the requirements to join your network currently, please contact me via email admin at techky.com and let me know what I need to do.

Thanks.

…how was that for begging? :)
